Frank Cappelleri, founder of the technical analysis firm CappThesis, suggests that immediate follow-through is not a prerequisite for a successful move. According to Cappelleri, this specific pattern of immediate continuation has occurred only three times since early 2022: following the April 2025 low, in November 2022, and during the bear market rally of March 2022. Given the scale of the recent price action, market participants should anticipate a phase of profit-taking or 'digestion.' This period of consolidation is viewed as a standard mechanical response to rapid price appreciation rather than a signal of trend failure. Traders are advised to monitor how the market absorbs these gains, as the lack of immediate follow-through is historically common and does not necessarily invalidate the positive news that sparked the initial advance.
