CoreWeave Expands AI Infrastructure Dominance with Anthropic Partnership

CoreWeave has entered into a multi-year agreement with Anthropic to provide the infrastructure necessary to power the Claude artificial intelligence models. The deal marks a significant expansion for the specialized cloud provider, which now supports nine of the ten leading AI model developers. Following the announcement, shares of the neocloud provider climbed approximately 4%. The partnership arrives amidst a surge in global AI demand. Just one day prior to the Anthropic deal, Meta committed an additional $21 billion to CoreWeave, adding to a previous $14.2 billion commitment announced in September. CoreWeave's platform, which utilizes hundreds of thousands of Nvidia graphics processing units (GPUs), has become a vital resource for both startups and hyperscalers, including Microsoft, OpenAI, and Google. While the specific financial terms of the Anthropic agreement were not disclosed, the partnership will begin with a phased infrastructure roll-out with potential for further expansion. The scale of the AI market is further highlighted by Anthropic's own growth; the company reported that its annual run rate has topped $30 billion, a sharp increase from $9 billion at the end of 2025. CoreWeave's rapid ascent reflects the industry's struggle to secure enough compute power to train and deploy large-scale models. Currently, the only major foundational AI model provider not utilizing CoreWeave's services is Elon Musk's xAI.
