Stack BTC Expands Bitcoin Treasury Amid Political Ties to Nigel Farage

Stack BTC, the Bitcoin treasury company chaired by former UK Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng, announced the purchase of 37 Bitcoin on Monday. The acquisition, valued at approximately £2 million ($2.7 million), was executed at an average price of $72,385 per coin. The firm now holds a total of 68.1898 BTC as part of its broader treasury strategy. This strategic move follows a prior equity investment by Nigel Farage, who holds a 6.31% minority stake in the company. Stack BTC positions itself as a vehicle for UK investors to gain exposure to Bitcoin through public equity markets. Farage's public backing marks a first for a sitting UK Member of Parliament and political party leader. This alignment comes as Reform UK has emerged as a primary recipient of crypto-linked funding, reportedly securing approximately $18 million in 2025, outpacing both the Labour and Conservative parties. However, the development occurs as the UK government advances plans for a temporary moratorium on cryptocurrency donations to political parties. Regulators and transparency campaigners are pushing for tighter rules to mitigate risks associated with opaque or overseas influence in domestic politics. Following the announcement of the Bitcoin purchase, shares of Stack BTC (STAK) rose 7.5%, trading at $14.43 compared to the previous Friday's close of $13.43.
