Hochtief AG has announced that a joint venture led by its Infrastructure unit has been awarded a contract valued at approximately 220 million euros for the modernization of the Cáslav military airport in the Czech Republic. The project is designed to ensure the long-term operational reliability of aviation technology utilized by the Czech Air Force and its NATO allies. The facility has not undergone a full runway reconstruction for several decades, having relied primarily on partial maintenance in previous years. The scope of work includes the comprehensive reconstruction of the runway and the installation of a modernized airport lighting system, along with necessary supporting infrastructure to ensure safe flight operations. These upgrades are critical for strengthening aviation infrastructure within the region. Construction is scheduled to take place during a full airport closure starting in April 2026 and is expected to conclude in late 2028. Despite the contract win, Hochtief shares were trading slightly lower at EUR 446.20 on the XETRA.
