By leveraging NewsNation, Nexstar seeks to increase the visibility of its own news brand across its extensive network of local stations while reducing its dependence on external network partners for national reporting. Historically, Nexstar stations have relied on the major networks to provide national news anchors and segments to supplement local coverage.
