Stack BTC Expands Bitcoin Treasury Amid High-Profile Political Ties

Stack BTC, the Aquis-listed Bitcoin treasury company, announced the purchase of 2 million British pounds (approximately $2.7 million) worth of Bitcoin on Monday. The acquisition consists of 37 BTC purchased at an average price of roughly $72,385 per coin, bringing the company's total holdings to 68.1898 BTC. The company, chaired by former UK Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng, is positioning itself as a vehicle for UK investors to gain Bitcoin exposure through public markets. This latest purchase follows a previously disclosed $286,000 equity investment by Nigel Farage, who holds a 6.31% minority stake in the firm alongside Kwarteng. Farage's involvement marks a significant intersection of British politics and digital assets, as he is the first sitting member of parliament and political party leader to publicly back a Bitcoin treasury strategy. This alignment comes as Reform UK has emerged as a leading recipient of crypto-linked funding, reportedly securing $18 million in 2025. However, this trend is facing regulatory headwinds. The UK government is currently advancing plans to implement a temporary ban on cryptocurrency donations to political parties to reduce the risk of opaque or overseas influence. Market reaction to the treasury expansion was positive in the short term. Shares of Stack BTC (STAK) rose 7.5% on Monday, closing at $14.43 compared to $13.43 at the end of the previous week.
