Institutional Holdings of Invesco QQQ Trust See Slight Decline in Recent 13F Filings

Analysis of the most recent 13F filings for the period ending March 31, 2026, reveals a slight cooling of institutional appetite for the Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ). Out of a sample of 52 recent filings, 35 funds maintained positions in the Nasdaq-100 tracking ETF. The data suggests a trend of position trimming among a subset of hedge fund managers. While 10 funds increased their stakes and one new position was established, 19 funds reduced their holdings during the first quarter of 2026. In aggregate, the funds tracked in this analysis reduced their QQQ holdings by 289,312 shares, moving from 8,227,394 to 7,938,082 shares. This represents a total share count decline of approximately 3.52%. Among the notable shifts, Town & Country Bank & Trust (dba First Bankers Trust CO) and True Vision MN LLC completely exited their positions in the trust as of the March 31 reporting date. Analysts caution that 13F filings provide an incomplete picture, as they only disclose long positions and omit short interests or derivatives. Consequently, these shifts may reflect tactical adjustments rather than a broad bearish sentiment toward the tech-heavy index.
