Siemens Launches Autonomous AI Agent to Transform Industrial Engineering

Siemens AG has unveiled the Eigen Engineering Agent, a sophisticated industrial AI system capable of executing end-to-end engineering tasks autonomously. This launch is a cornerstone of the company's broader €1 billion investment strategy focused on industrial artificial intelligence. The agent is designed to handle repetitive, high-complexity work such as writing automation code, configuring hardware devices, and validating outputs against established benchmarks. By automating these processes, Siemens aims to alleviate the critical shortage of skilled engineers currently impacting the global industrial sector. Internal testing across more than 100 companies in 19 countries indicates substantial performance gains. The system can improve overall engineering efficiency by up to 50% and complete specific tasks two to five times faster than traditional manual methods. Furthermore, the company reports a quality improvement of up to 80% in the resulting outputs. The Eigen Engineering Agent is integrated into the TIA Portal, a platform already utilized by over 600,000 users within the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio. The company intends to expand the agent's capabilities beyond automation engineering into a wider array of industrial applications. Siemens AG shares recently showed positive momentum, closing at EUR 247.65 on the XETRA, marking a 3.36% increase.
