Bitmine Aggressively Expands Ether Treasury Toward 5% Supply Target

Bitmine Immersion Technologies has significantly increased its cryptocurrency reserves, purchasing 101,627 Ether (ETH) during the week of April 13 to April 19. According to a recent SEC Form 8-K filing, this represents the company's largest single-week acquisition since December 15, 2025. The purchase brings Bitmine's total treasury to 4,976,485 ETH, which accounts for approximately 4.12% of the total circulating supply. This move aligns with the firm's stated long-term objective of reaching a 5% ownership threshold of the network's supply, a goal the company refers to as the 'alchemy of 5%.' At a reference price of $2,301 per token, the ETH holdings are valued at roughly $11.5 billion. When combined with 199 Bitcoin, stakes in Beast Industries and Eightco Holdings, and $1.12 billion in cash, the company's total liquid and crypto assets stand at $12.9 billion. Chairman Tom Lee characterized the current market environment as a 'mini-crypto winter,' suggesting the asset is in the final stages of a slump. Lee expressed a long-term bullish outlook, forecasting that Ether could climb above $60,000 over the next few years. Beyond simple accumulation, Bitmine is scaling its institutional staking operations via the MAVAN (Made in America Validator Network) platform. The company reported that 3.33 million ETH is currently staked, generating annualized staking revenues of over $200 million.
