RTX Expands Global Engine Capacity with $100 Million Polish Investment

RTX Corp.'s Pratt & Whitney division has announced a $100 million capital injection into its production facility in Rzeszow, Poland. The investment is designed to scale production capacity and integrate advanced manufacturing capabilities to support a growing global order book for both commercial and military aviation. The expansion specifically targets the production of the Pratt & Whitney GTF, F135, and F100 engines. By constructing a new facility dedicated to processing isothermally forged parts—including specialized heat treatment, sonic machining, and inspection operations—RTX aims to resolve bottlenecks in the supply of critical rotating compressor and turbine disks. This Polish expansion complements a previously announced $200 million investment in the Columbus Forge facility in Georgia, USA. Together, these strategic upgrades are projected to be fully operational by 2028, resulting in a cumulative 30% increase in the output of essential engine components. Poland currently serves as RTX's largest operational hub outside the United States, employing more than 9,400 people across its Raytheon, Collins Aerospace, and Pratt & Whitney businesses. This investment reinforces the company's commitment to diversifying its manufacturing footprint while scaling to meet long-term aerospace demand.
