Microsoft Appoints Daniel Shapero as LinkedIn CEO to Drive AI Integration

Microsoft has named Daniel Shapero as the new CEO of LinkedIn, effective immediately. Shapero, a veteran executive who joined the platform in 2008 after a tenure at Bain & Co., takes the helm from Ryan Roslansky. Roslansky, who led the subsidiary since 2020, will transition to a role as executive vice president at Microsoft. This shift follows Roslansky's expanded responsibilities within Microsoft's Office productivity group over the past year, signaling a tighter integration between the professional network and Microsoft's core productivity suite. Under Roslansky's leadership, LinkedIn experienced substantial scale, with membership expanding from approximately 700 million to 1.3 billion users. The platform reported an 11% year-over-year revenue increase in its most recent quarter, as the company sought to increase monetization per member following Microsoft's $27 billion acquisition in 2016.
