Chevron Restores Full Capacity at Wheatstone LNG Facility

Chevron (CVX) announced on Thursday that its Wheatstone liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant in Australia has returned to full production capacity. The facility had been operating under constraints following structural and operational damage caused by Tropical Cyclone Narelle last month. The Wheatstone plant is a critical asset in Chevron's global energy portfolio, boasting an annual capacity of 8.9 million metric tons. The disruption caused by the cyclone forced a temporary shutdown and a subsequent repair phase to ensure safety and operational integrity before resuming full-scale exports. Company officials confirmed that all necessary repairs have been completed, allowing the facility to resume its role as a primary supplier of LNG to international markets.
