Bitmine Expands Ethereum Treasury with $23.9 Million Purchase from Foundation

Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) has finalized an over-the-counter purchase of 10,000 ether (ETH) from the Ethereum Foundation, valued at approximately $23.87 million. The transaction was confirmed via a post from the Foundation, noting that the proceeds will be used to fund protocol research, ecosystem development, and grants. Led by Fundstrat CIO Thomas Lee, Bitmine is aggressively positioning itself as a dominant force in digital asset treasury management. This latest acquisition follows a substantial purchase of over 100,000 ETH last week, signaling a commitment to accumulation at a time when many other corporate treasuries have slowed their buying activity. According to the company's Monday report, Bitmine's total holdings now stand at 4.97 million ETH, with total assets valued at $12.9 billion. This makes the firm the largest public holder of ether. The company has previously announced a long-term strategic objective to accumulate roughly 6 million tokens, which would represent approximately 5% of the total ETH supply. While ETH was trading roughly 3% lower than the sale price at the time of the announcement, the move underscores a strong institutional conviction in the asset's long-term value.
