The contract focuses on the delivery of counter-unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and related drone components, which are critical for evolving drone threat environments. The order comes as the company targets a broader domestic market opportunity estimated between $3 billion and $5 billion for drone parts manufactured within the United States. This strategic focus aims to capitalize on the growing demand for secure, domestic supply chains in defense and surveillance infrastructure. In 2025, Unusual Machines reported total revenue of $11.2 million. The new $5 million contract represents a substantial addition to the company's top line. Deliveries for the Powerus order are scheduled to begin in April and are expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2026. Shares of UMAC reacted positively to the announcement, seeing a peak increase of 14.5% on Thursday before settling to a 4% gain from the previous Friday's close. This recovery follows a period of volatility in March, during which the stock had declined by more than 9%.
