MicroStrategy Expands Bitcoin Treasury Toward 1 Million BTC Milestone

Strategy (MSTR), the leading publicly traded corporate holder of bitcoin, continues its aggressive accumulation strategy with the purchase of 3,273 BTC. The acquisition, valued at approximately $255 million, was executed at an average price of $77,906 per coin. This latest move pushes the company's total treasury to 818,334 BTC. According to Executive Chairman Michael Saylor, the total investment now stands at roughly $61.81 billion, with an overall average acquisition cost of $75,537 per bitcoin. Beyond the raw accumulation, Saylor reported a 'BTC Yield' of 9.6% for the year-to-date period in 2026, reflecting the company's efficiency in increasing its bitcoin holdings relative to its share count. The trend of corporate adoption extends beyond MSTR. Strive, led by CEO Matt Cole, announced the purchase of 789 BTC for $61.43 million at an average price of $77,890. This brings Strive's total holdings to 14,557 BTC, with a market value of approximately $1.13 billion as of late April. These coordinated purchases underscore a persistent institutional demand for bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset. While MSTR remains the dominant player, the expansion of other firms like Strive suggests a broadening base of corporate holders utilizing digital assets for balance sheet diversification.
