Nvidia Surpasses $5 Trillion Market Cap as AI Demand Fuels Record Highs

Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) has climbed to a new all-time high, pushing its total market valuation to $5.2 trillion. This rally follows a period of volatility where concerns over an AI bubble and increased competition had previously driven the stock down by as much as 20%. The company's growth is anchored by its near-monopoly in the data center GPU space, where it reportedly controls 92% of the market. With McKinsey & Company projecting total data center capital expenditures to reach $7 trillion by 2030, and GPUs accounting for roughly 39% of that spend, the addressable opportunity is estimated at $2.5 trillion over the next five years. Recent fiscal performance underscores this trajectory. For the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026, Nvidia reported revenue of $68.1 billion, a 73% year-over-year increase. Adjusted earnings per share rose 82% to $1.62, while gross margins expanded 170 basis points to 75.2%. Looking ahead, the company forecasts first-quarter fiscal 2027 revenue of $78 billion, representing approximately 77% growth. CEO Jensen Huang has set an aggressive target, stating the company expects to generate at least $1 trillion from the sale of Blackwell and Vera Rubin chips by the end of 2027.
