AI Talent Exodus: Frontier Researchers Launch Billion-Dollar Startups

A wave of high-profile departures from the world's leading AI labs is reshaping the artificial intelligence landscape. Former employees from Google DeepMind, Meta, and OpenAI are leveraging their expertise to launch startups that are attracting unprecedented levels of venture capital, often raising hundreds of millions of dollars within months of inception. The trend is driven by a growing tension between the commercial imperatives of Big Tech and the desire for exploratory research.
