Airbus SE (EADSY) has released its financial results for the first quarter of 2026, revealing a broad contraction in its financial performance. The aerospace and defense manufacturer faced headwinds that impacted both its revenue streams and overall profitability during the opening three months of the year. Financial data shows that revenue fell to 12.65 billion euros, a decrease from the 13.54 billion euros reported in the first quarter of 2025. This top-line decline was accompanied by a sharper drop in net income, which fell to 586 million euros from 793 million euros in the prior-year period. Operational efficiency also saw a downturn, with Earnings Before Interest and Taxes (EBIT) dropping to 224 million euros, down from 473 million euros a year earlier. Total profit for the period was recorded at 551 million euros, compared to 745 million euros in the same quarter of 2025. On a per-share basis, earnings fell to 0.74 euros, down from 1.01 euros in the previous year. The market reacted negatively to the results, with EADSY shares trading down 2.47%, falling $1.20 to settle at $47.43 on the OTC Markets.
