Knowit Announces CEO Transition to Navigate AI-Driven Market Shift

Knowit AB (KNOW.ST) has announced a leadership change at the top, with long-serving President and CEO Per Wallentin set to depart the firm on August 1. The transition comes after more than 15 years of Wallentin's leadership, marking the end of a significant era for the Nordic consultancy firm. The company stated that the decision resulted from strategic discussions between the Board and Wallentin. The board framed the move as a natural evolution for the organization, emphasizing the need for fresh leadership to steer the company through a rapidly evolving technological landscape. Specifically, the company cited the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) and a shifting macroeconomic environment as primary drivers for the leadership change. The board believes new leadership is essential to effectively navigate these disruptions and maintain the firm's competitive edge in the consultancy sector. To ensure operational stability, Fredrik Ekerhovd, currently the Head of Knowit Solutions, will assume the role of interim President and CEO effective August 1. The company has already initiated a formal process to identify and appoint a permanent successor. In recent trading on the Stockholm Stock Exchange, Knowit shares closed at SEK 95.40, reflecting a slight decline of 1.14%.
