Rigetti Computing Positioned for Recovery Over Quantum Computing

Rigetti Computing (RGTI) and Quantum Computing (QUBT) are attempting to recover from a steep valuation decline, with both stocks falling more than 60% from their peaks since October 2025. As investors seek entry points following this correction, the distinction between the two companies' business models has become a primary focal point for evaluation. While the underlying science of quantum mechanics remains complex, the operational structures of these firms provide a clearer path for analysis. Rigetti's approach as an integrated provider contrasts sharply with the specialized component focus of Quantum Computing. Rigetti currently holds a market capitalization of $5.5 billion and generates more than ten times the annual revenue of Quantum Computing, which is valued at $2 billion. Rigetti's 'one-stop shop' strategy includes the production of quantum processing chips and control systems, alongside a Quantum Cloud Services (QCS) platform and open-source software. In contrast, Quantum Computing focuses on photonics and the manufacture of devices such as the Dirac-3 entropy quantum computer. While these components serve medical imaging and other industries, the company operates primarily as a component manufacturer rather than a full-system provider. Despite the speculative nature of the sector, Rigetti's ability to offer both hardware and cloud-based software access makes it a more compelling option for organizations seeking quantum solutions without the overhead of maintaining physical infrastructure.
