XO Market Launches User-Generated Prediction Platform Following $6 Million Seed Round

XO Market has emerged as a challenger to established prediction platforms like Polymarket and Kalshi, securing $6 million in seed funding led by 20VC, Picus Capital, and Coinbase Ventures. Unlike its competitors, which rely on centralized curation, XO employs a user-generated model that allows individuals and companies to create their own markets, set parameters, and determine fees. Co-founder Ali Habbabeh describes the platform as the "YouTube of prediction markets," contrasting it with the "Netflix-style" curated approach of incumbents. This shift aims to foster a more creative and diverse array of trading opportunities driven by community demand rather than corporate decision-making. The model is showing early traction; since its mainnet beta launch in mid-November, XO has recorded over $150 million in trading volume and attracted more than 30,000 users across 600 user-created markets. This growth occurs against a backdrop of a rapidly expanding industry, with total sector volume surging from approximately $15-16 billion in 2024 to over $60 billion in 2025. To further decentralize the ecosystem, XO is developing "XO Vaults." This feature will allow retail users to pool capital and act as market makers, a role currently dominated by professional firms on larger platforms. By lowering the barrier to liquidity provision, XO seeks to solve the liquidity struggles that have plagued previous user-generated attempts in the space.
