Amtech Systems Appoints Thomas Sabol as Chief Financial Officer

Amtech Systems, Inc. (ASYS) announced on Friday the appointment of Thomas Sabol as its Chief Financial Officer. The transition is scheduled to take effect on May 14, 2026, as the company seeks to solidify its financial leadership. Sabol will assume the dual roles of principal accounting officer and principal financial officer, taking over the responsibilities previously held by interim CFO Mark Weaver. The appointment comes as Amtech continues to operate in the specialized field of equipment and consumables for AI semiconductor device packaging and advanced substrate fabrication. With over 30 years of senior financial leadership experience, Sabol is a seasoned executive. His career includes more than two decades serving as a CFO for a variety of both public and private companies, providing him with a broad perspective on corporate fiscal management. Immediately prior to joining Amtech, Sabol served as the Interim Chief Financial Officer and Head of HR with Korn Ferry Executive Interim Services. His extensive background in executive interim services suggests a capacity for rapid integration into new corporate structures. While executive transitions are common in the semiconductor equipment sector, the addition of a veteran CFO with deep public company experience is intended to provide stability and strategic oversight as the company navigates the evolving AI hardware landscape.
