ASE Technology Reports Strong Q1 Growth Driven by ATM Business Surge

ASE Technology (ASX) has reported robust financial results for the first quarter, characterized by a sharp increase in monthly sales and strong year-over-year growth. The results underscore a recovery and expansion in semiconductor packaging and testing demand, particularly within the company's Advanced Packaging (ATM) business, which saw a 33% revenue spike. For the month of March, revenues climbed 19% year-over-year to approximately $1.95 billion, representing a 17.9% increase from the previous month. This monthly momentum contributed to a strong first quarter, where total revenues reached $5.51 billion. This figure represents a 21.9% increase compared to the same period last year, despite a slight sequential decline of 4.4%. When measured in its home currency, the company reported revenues of NT$ 61.58 billion. This reflects a 14.6% increase year-over-year and a notable 18.2% rise on a sequential basis. These figures suggest sustained demand for high-end semiconductor services.
